Everything you enter in HydroponicsCalc — reservoir names, readings, journal entries, photos, harvest records, recipes — is stored exclusively on your device. It never leaves. We never see it.
Who We Are
HydroponicsCalc is developed and published by HackerHomeLab.com, an independent app studio. This Privacy Policy explains how our iOS and iPadOS application handles your data.
Information We Collect
None. HydroponicsCalc does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information on our servers. There are no servers involved in normal app usage.

Device Permissions
The app requests the following permissions only when you explicitly trigger the relevant feature:
- Camera — requested only when you tap "Take Photo" in the Grow Journal. Used solely to capture a single photo for that journal entry. The app does not access the camera at any other time.
- Photo Library — requested only when you tap "Choose from Library" in the Grow Journal. Used solely to select one photo for that entry. We do not scan, index, or upload your photo library.
HydroponicsCalc does not request access to your contacts, location, microphone, health data, Bluetooth, Face ID biometrics, or any other device capability.
Analytics and Tracking
HydroponicsCalc contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporting service, no advertising network, and no third-party SDK of any kind. We do not use Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework because we perform no tracking whatsoever — not even anonymised usage data.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any data with third parties. There is nothing to share — all information stays on your device and is inaccessible to us.
PDF and CSV Exports
The app can generate PDF reports from your Grow Journal and CSV files from your harvest records. These files are created locally on your device and shared only when you explicitly choose to use iOS's Share Sheet. We have no access to any exported files.
iCloud
HydroponicsCalc does not use iCloud or any Apple sync services. Data does not sync between devices. Your data lives on the device where you entered it.
Children's Privacy
HydroponicsCalc does not collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The app is rated 4+ on the App Store.
Security
Because all data is stored locally on your device, its security is protected by your device's own security features — screen lock, Face ID / Touch ID, and iOS's sandboxed application storage model. We have no ability to access your device or its data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. We will never introduce data collection without prominently notifying users.
